The libraries do not have notaries.  Your bank will likely provide you free notary service.

Common places to look for a notary public are

  • City and town halls
  • Courts
  • Banks
  • Law offices
  • Insurance companies
  • Mailing service stores
  • In the phone book, look under "Notary Public"

In Maryland, notaries are commissioned by the Office of the Secretary of State.  The website of that office provides a search of the database of notaries by name and by county, but it provides only name, address, and expiration date of the notary's commission.
