How many times can I renew a book?
Most library materials can be renewed 3 times, as long as no one has placed a hold against the title. The renewal period is 3 weeks.
Interlibrary loan items from Marina can be renewed 3 times as well, but a staff member must perform the renewal for you. You can call Ask-a-Librarian at 240-777-0001 or ask at any branch.
There are a few categories of material that can never be renewed:
- Express books. These current bestsellers are not eligible for renewal after the 3-week borrowing period. They are identified by red B&T spine labels.
- OCLC interlibrary loan items. OCLC ILL items are not eligible for renewal.
- Items borrowed on an Educator Card.
