I got an email that my hold was available on the Maryland Digital eLibrary/Overdrive. I logged in, but the hold wasn't there.
** Be sure to log into the Maryland Digital eLibrary to retrieve your holds and not into your regular library account on MCPL's homepage. **
Here are some possible reasons why your hold might not appear despite your having received an email notification:
- There is a 72-hour window for picking up holds. It’s 72 hours exactly from the timestamp on the notification email—which is not necessarily what people think of as 3 days. Could that time limit have expired?
- Was the hold placed under another library card number? Is there another card in your family with which you may have placed holds? The notification email should display the last 4 digits of the card number the hold was placed under.
- Did you replace your library card because it was lost or damaged? The holds may have been under your previous account number, but you won't see them under the new account number. If this happens, we can ask Overdrive to merge the accounts. Please fill out the support form.
