Answer

Materials belonging to the Talking Book program -- players, tapes, and cartridges -- should be mailed to:

Maryland State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped
415 Park Avenue
Baltimore, MD 21201

Mail is postage-free.  Use the reverse of the mailing card to send materials back.  If you have to make your own mailing card, write “Free Matter for the Blind and Physically Handicapped” in the upper right corner instead of using stamps and mail to the above address.

Players: Mail players to the above address in their original box, or carefully pack the .

Tapes and cartridges:  Either turn the mailing card over to send it back to the library or write the address on a card and insert it into the flaps, using tape if necessary.

Catalogs should be recycled.  Magazines on tape should be thrown away.

    Live Chat

Using this service you may be chatting with MCPL librarians or librarians at other libraries. All librarians will assist you and, if needed, refer your question, to MCPL librarians.

For more than a decade, Montgomery County Public Libraries has offered a live, digital chat reference service. Developed by MCPL staff in 2002, with just a chat box on the main webpage, we quickly expanded to include chat reference options that could be accessed across the website and even in the catalog. This year the Maryland AskUsNow! cooperative, of which MCPL is a member, began providing the same type of chat reference service to all its participating members. We are pleased to announce that, by joining forces with the Maryland AskUsNow! cooperative - a network of librarians worldwide - MCPL will continue to support our community with the same quality chat reference service that we have offered for the last 11 years, but it will now be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We look forward to continuing our reference chats!
